The Little Leprechaun Princess
Little Molly was the daughter of the richest leprechaun in Ireland; her fathers name was King Shnogal. Unlike the rest of her leprechaun family Molly was really tiny. In fact, she was only one-tenth of a regular leprechauns’ size, which would be a little over half of a pencil. At night all of her family would sit around the campfire and read bedtime stories. Little Molly would sit in the palm of her father’s hand and enjoy listening to it. Her family would eat smores whereas she would chomp down on a good old roasted cheerio. After the bedtime story was over her father would tuck her into her little bed, which was only a matchbox. She would cover up with a little blanket that her mother made for her. It even had her name on it! In the morning Molly’s mother would wake her up. She would crawl downstairs and enjoy breakfast with her family. She drank orange juice from a thimble and would just sit up on the table and eat. After breakfast Little Molly gets ready to go to school, only this morning her father came running into the house screaming, "My gold is missing, where could have it gone?" Everyone panicked then King Shnogal asked the family to go out and look for it, all accept for Little Molly. She was far too little to go on a big adventure such as that one. Well, it kept getting later and later and her family was not back yet. Molly was starting to get worried. So she decided to set out and look for them. This was a dangerous thing for Little Molly to do because she was so small. On this adventure Molly realized that it would take her far too long to walk so she decided to jump onto a leaf and float down the stream. By being in the stream she would also have a better chance of seeing her family members. This was very fun for her to do, just floating down the stream on a nice sunny day. She was floating down and realized there was a huge drop-off up ahead of her. She was frightened, but then a great big turtle rescued her from the drop-off and took her back to shore. She thanked the turtle for saving her precious little life. She then asked him if he had seen any leprechauns walking by. Mr. Turtle said he saw some commotion in the trees and that they should go check it out. She climbed onto his back and off they went. In fact, they did see a leprechaun. As they drew near they realized that it was the most evil leprechaun of them all, Sir Thunder. He was scary looking; he had bright green eyes with black hair and a scar across his eye. He had her father’s pot of gold. What were they to do? They cannot let him get away with it. They came up with an ingenious plan. They took advantage of Molly being so little that he did not even realize she was on the turtle’s shell. So she jumped down and marched right over to Mr. Thunder. She crawled up his pant leg, up until she reached his face, and poked him right in the eye. Mr. Thunder, now blinded, was very angry. He was screaming ferociously. Little Molly’s family was not far from there, they came running and realized that it was Molly. King Shnogal picked her up into the palm of his hand, thankful that she was not harmed, also very excited that she found his pot of gold all by herself. Thanks to Mr. Turtle she found everything that she set out to find. Her and her family went home and watched TV. They lived happily ever after, of course with the gold too!! |
